You walked into our home and hearts
So many years ago,
And as the time flew swiftly by,
Our love did surely grow.

You filled our lives with so much joy,
It was beyond all measure;
More precious than a chest of gold--
A sweet and special treasure.

So much more than just a dog;
Our true and loyal friend,
Although your earthly time is done,
The memories will not end.

But now the time for parting's come,
And though we're bowed with grief;
We know one day we'll be rejoined--
We're sustained by this belief.
